Malcolm, 16 year old school cross country hero, hasn't taken much notice of sex. That is until he is charged with filming the rugby game. What he sees when he presses 'play' involves his friend Juliet. It's about this time Juliet becomes the victim of a blackmailer.

Kevin is 16, a would-be sculptor and in love with Brian. But Brian is thoroughly heterosexual. Meanwhile Malcolm has a plan to win this year's science competition by exploring the topic of sex.

At the party Malcolm interviews Brian on camera about his sexual experiences. Kevin impresses hostess Charlotte by wrapping himself, completely naked, around the statue in the backyard fountain.

Juliet is determined to find out who her blackmailer is. She lies in wait but to no avail. Malcolm's confidence is growing as the material for his sex project comes together.

Charlotte, with her love of Hollywood is impressed by Malcolm's sincerity in making his movie about sex. Meanwhile Juliet approaches Malcolm for help with her blackmailer problem.

Brian rings the sex chat site set up by Juliet and Malcolm. Charlotte offers to be in Malcolm's video but when she tells him about her dreamed-of first experience of sex, he falls for her.

Malcolm tries to get Juliet to tell him why she needs money. Juliet makes Malcolm an offer, but it's not what he's hoping for. Kevin discovers the school principal with the school secretary.

Malcolm tells him Mum he's thinking about sex all the time. She tells him about her own first experiences of sex. She then suggests Malcolm start his sexual journey with Juliet.

Malcolm and Juliet are both a little awkward about the money for sex deal. They make a start but Malcolm falls off the bed at the wrong moment. Juliet gives the money back. The school principal bans Malcolm from the Science Fair.

Malcolm confides in Juliet about his disappointment over the Science Fair. Juliet is also very depressed so they brainstorm about how to solve their problems. They decide to make and sell a TV documentary.

Brian visits Kevin to make sure he behaves himself like a man in the filming of the sex video at a restaurant. He presents Kevin with a list of things that will make him more attractive. Charlotte is nervous — she wants to impress Malcolm.

Malcolm and Juliet persevere with the filming of the video in the sleazy restaurant. The hoped-for conversations about sex are not forthcoming despite Juliet's best attempts to get them started.

Charlote makes it clear to Kevin she wants Malcolm but Juliet intervenes and so Charlotte decides that Kevin's offer is attractive. Malcolm follow Kevin and Charlotte to film them having sex but Kevin confesses to Charlotte his love for Brian.

Malcolm visits Kevin to try to get the video tape back. Kevin refuses because he's scared Brian will find out. They do a deal when Kevin tells Malcolm what he's seen after hours as a school cleaner. Malcolm gets himself back into the Science Fair.

Malcolm doesn't get first prize in the Science Fair but the speech made by the actual winner answers a few questions, unravels a series of mysteries, solves some problems and causes an avalanche of love in the room.
